Sweetheart, also known as the Diner Waitress, is a minor character in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.
Events of Hotline Miami 2[]
On October 25th, 1991, she wonders why Manny Pardo merely ordered his food and went to the bathroom before drinking his coffee and leaving, and notes that Pardo looks very ill. Pardo awkwardly tries to ease her worries, telling her he's had a stressful day and that he'll go home and get some sleep. She tells him to have a nice night and he responds with a clumsy "you too, sweetheart!"
Trivia[]
- Sweetheart is featured on the box of the Japanese edition of Hotline Miami, which features a download code for Hotline Miami 2.
- Sweetheart, along with Pizza Dude and Tattoo Artist, are call backs to and parodies of Beard's Hotline Miami outros. Sweetheart is used to establish Pardo as ineffectively trying to live up to the societal standards set by his job and the societal interests set by movies.
- Perturbator and Noir Deco's Terminator-inspired "Tech Noir" is used on Homicide and is partial inspiration for it, and Kyle Reese's shotgun draw in that appears to be what Pardo is partly emulating with his shotgun play. In this context, Sweetheart could be seen as a reference to Sarah Connor, the exhausted blonde diner waitress in that movie.
