The Sledgehammer is an unlockable melee weapon. It is one of the slower melee weapons in the game, making it rather redundant (aside from perverse pleasure) since all melee weapons are one-hit kills. However, it makes it easier to hit multiple enemies with one swing because of its animation length. This weapon has its own execution animation in which the player pulverizes the head of the downed enemy.
