The Mendoza is a sub-machine gun that appears in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. It is used by the Colombians, and can be used by Manny Pardo and The Son.
Statistics[]
Replacing the standalone MP5 from Hotline Miami the Mendoza follows the same pattern as it's predecessor; albeit with a slower firing rate, 30 round magazine instead of 32, slightly decreased accuracy (now the fourth most accurate gun behind the Flamethrower, M16 and Heavy Machine Gun), and killing enemies in one shot (like all firearms in Wrong Number though enemies require 2 shots to kill a player generally) making it one of the best guns in the game (if not the series) as such in levels when fighting the Colombians; picking up the Mendoza should be a high priority.
The Son will always have a Mendoza available to him in the beginning of Blood Money, which has a unique benefit of having 32 rounds instead of the usual 30 (likely an oversight) Manny Pardo also has his quickest gun execution (tied with his Shotgun) as he buttstrokes the enemy instead of shooting them; conserving ammo unlike when exeucting enemies with one-handed guns such as the Uzi.
Trivia[]
- Mendoza is the company that manufactures the HM-3 SMG, which is why said weapon appears in-game as the Mendoza.
- The in-game sprite appears to have the buttstock folded, resembling a foregrip in the process.
- Interestingly enough, the magazine capacity on the Mendoza is correct not just for the real weapon, but also for all variants of the Uzi as well. The HM-3 itself is a Mexican version of the Uzi as well.
- Encamped enemies carry Mendozas that become FAMAEs when killed for balance purposes.
- Its slow rate of fire depicted in-game is correct as the real HM-3 has a rate of fire comparable to the AK-47's (Kalashnikov in-game) at 600 RPM.
