Hotline Miami Wiki

Quality Control

While Hotline Miami may be a fun and entertaining video game series, the Hotline Miami Wiki is still a wiki, not a playground. We expect a degree of effort put into page contributions. This could range from using proper grammar in sentences and naming, and keeping page formatting up to standard. If you wish to add helpful changes to our pages, please help us by putting care and effort into your edits.

Edit Warring

Overriding one another’s edits over content disagreements is frowned upon. Should this occur, please discuss your concerns with one another in the wiki’s talk pages and comment sections instead of flooding edit revisions as a form of discourse. If unable to come to an agreement, you should consult an administrator to resolve the dispute. Should an admin resolve and/or overrule a dispute, any further edit warring from either party will be met with blocks.

Intimidation/Harassment

Please remain civil and approachable with one another in community engagement. Resorting to intimidation or harassment, which can range from inappropriate/hostile behavior and threats of harm against a user will be considered actionable. Users will also be expected to behave accordingly should an administrator or moderator reprimand them for inappropriate conduct.

Vandalism/Spam

The draconian rule. As the Hotline Miami Wiki has a long history of receiving organised attacks, any form of vandalism or spam will not be tolerated. Vandalism/Spam can range from removal or destruction of content, publishing nonsensical pages, unwanted advertising, inappropriate imagery and malicious links. Users who engage in any of this activity will be permanently banned. No exceptions.

False Information

When editing pages, keep information as factual as possible. Do not speculate/theorise on pages; this should only be reserved for discussions. Do not fabricate information not present within the Hotline Miami titles, unless Dennaton states that it is factual.

Fan Content

Similarly to false information, we are not a fan fiction wiki. Any and all content on the wiki should be about information present within the mainline ‘’Hotline Miami’’ canon and commercialised spin-offs or crossovers, not fan-made stories and “OCs”. The only exception to this rule is content listed on our pages for Hotline Miami 1 modifications and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number custom levels.

If you wish to write about non-canon/custom-made content on this wiki, do so in a blog post.

Sock-Puppet Accounts

By FANDOM’s definition, a sock-puppet is an alternative account used for deceptive purposes. The most common method of deception is to evade a ban after one’s account is blocked. If you happen to be banned, it is likely you were violating the rules. If you feel your block was unwarranted, you should consult them about their ban on Community Central. Do not resort to sock-puppetry to evade your ban: we will block your sock account permanently and double the ban time of your original account. Repeated use of sock-puppets will escalate to a permanent ban. If you cannot respect your ban, we cannot keep you on the wiki in good faith.
