The Heavy Machine Gun or the Big and Heavy, is a weapon featured in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. It is one of the three weapons that is exclusively available for The Soldier. It is an LMG based off of the M249 SAW.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number[]
The Heavy Machine Gun is seen exclusively in the Hawaiian Conflict, where it is one of the weapons The Soldier can use if the Player picks it at the start of a Soldier level; It is only available once Ambush is completed. The Colonel is also seen holding this weapon. It has the second highest ammunition count in the game (the highest being the Flamethrower) and is the third most accurate weapon (beaten by the Sniper Rifle and the Flamethrower). Once starting ammunition is depleted, ammunition pickups will only give 10 rounds. This weapon is required for the A BOX FULL OF SHARP OBJECTS achievement.

Trivia[]
- THE M249 SAW was a brand new LMG that had only been in service for about a year in 1985.
- The magazine size of the Heavy Machine Gun is unrealistically small considering it is belt fed, although this was likely done for balancing purposes.
- The term "Heavy Machine Gun" is rather incorrect for this weapon. In this case, it would be a Light Machine Gun as it most likely uses rifle cartridges (5.56x45mm in both cases if either an M249 SAW or CMG-2) and can be maneuvered around relatively easily by one person; a Heavy Machine Gun would fire a more powerful round and is too heavy to be carried around by one person, needing a weapon mount to be stable (e.g. an M2 Browning Machine Gun, .50 Caliber.)
