The Sledgehammer is an unlockable melee weapon. It is one of the slower melee weapons in the game, making it rather redundant (aside from perverse pleasure) since all melee weapons are one-hit kills. However, it makes it easier to hit multiple enemies with one swing because of its animation length. This weapon has its own execution animation in which the player pulverizes the head of the downed enemy in a single swing.
While the sledgehammer does not appear in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, it does appear in the Level Editor of the PC version of the game when creating levels for Jacket. It can be placed on the ground as a weapon pickup in custom levels. It has the same functions and executions here as it does in the original Hotline Miami.
