The Chainlink is a weapon briefly seen in Hotline Miami and a common weapon in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.
Hotline Miami[]
In Hotline Miami, the Chainlink is seen as an unusable weapon that appears in the outro of Tension. It is seen wielded by a Mobster, threateningly swinging it around as he and two other Mobsters surround a man wearing a Dennis Mask.
After speaking to Beard in his store, the Mobsters disappear and the man is shown dead. This is the only ever time where the Chainlink is seen in the first game.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number[]
In Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, it is a common weapon used exclusively by the Gang enemies. It is a slow melee weapon (speed is similar to that of a Baseball Bat) with a unique execution where playable characters will slash it across a downed enemy's face, ripping their head apart.
The Chainlink is never seen outside of levels with Gangs.
Trivia[]
- The Chainlink is based off the Chainlock, which is a type of improvised Cosh made by attaching a padlock to a length of chain.
