Daniels isn't dead
Daniels is seen alive in the first volume of the Hotline Miami 2 Digital Comics. This volume takes place in 1989 after Jacket kills Father and Grandfather, meaning he also escapes the powerplant along with Jacket and Beard

In "Tension", We see a man wear what appeared to be a Tiger mask. But if you play as Tony yourself, he clearly isn't wearing the same mask. Looks like a lion mask

Thematic Analysis of Hotline Miami 2 (2016)
I wrote this a couple years ago in 2016 for the Themes section of the Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number page on this wiki. I'm not sure it's becoming a wiki, but I do stand by this old analysis having just re-read it. Posting it here for posterity should I decide to remove it from the wiki proper.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number represents a massive shift in tone from the original game. The colors have shifted from hazy neon pastels to stark dark purples lacking any kind of visual blur to them. Sun Araw's psychedelic music is completely omitted, replaced with tracks such as a melancholy untitled menu song by The Green Kingdom, calm remorseful songs like Modulogeek's Around, and exhausted on-the-job beats like Old Fox Future Gang's Guided Medita…
Writing Like Hotline: Simplicity and Implication in Subway
Sorry if this comes across as rambling, but I'd like to talk about how Hotline Miami tells stories so that maybe you can tell them as well as it did, and eventually maybe even better.
Making community content means you're probably going to be writing dialogue at some point. You can do that however you want, but the goal of this post it to help explain how the MAIN SERIES did it.
First of all, I think the best writing in the series is in Hotline Miami 2's Subway mission. The Fans have just died, and the player is wondering what the hell the game's even about now. This is the emotional thrust of the scene: Other characters are buried in flashbacks, and Pardo just killed the Fans and we all hate him now. Evan is the only one left at this po…
For The Dear Old Flag I Die: How Hotline Miami Gets the Right Wing
- Do not mourn, my mother, dear,
- Every pang will soon be o'er;
- For I hear the angel band
- Calling from their starry shore;
- Now I see their banners wave
- In the light of perfect day,
- though 'tis hard to part with you,
- Yet I would not wish to stay.
- For the dear old Flag I die,
- Mother, dry your weeping eye;
- For the honor of our land
- And the dear old Flag I die.
- Farewell mother, Death's cold hand
- Weighs upon my spirit now,
- And I feel his blighting breath
- Fan my pallid cheek and brow.
- Closer! closer! to your heart,
- Let me feel that you are by,
- While my sight is growing dim,
- For the dear old Flag I die.
- For the dear old Flag I die,
- Mother, dry your weeping eye;
- For the honor of our land
- And the dear old Flag I die.

Rats: Why Richter's Arc Is So Compelling
Hotline Miami is not traditional storytelling. Characters are picked up, dropped, viewed through fragmented or distorted lenses, and all that you're really left with is the gist of who that person was and what they felt like. Among all the 14 or so characters in Hotline Miami 2, Richter is chosen to be the voice of the player at the very end of it all in the Credits sequence. This is no small role. Why, in a game with so many protagonists, does Richter feel like the natural endpoint for the entire series?
First of all, Richter is an enemy. He first appears in the outro to Hotline Miami 1's Push It in the bathroom of the convenient store, much like how the first enemy the player likely dies to is the urinal enemy in The Metro. In Hotli…
Worthless Hotline Miami Videos
First of all, I'd like to apologize for not being a very active and positive member of the Hotline Miami community. I'm a simple person, when I saw that Hotline wiki was a trash heap in 2015, I wanted it changed for the better, and with the help of the people here, it was. If I'm inactive and caustic, that's just a product of the kind of laziness you pick up from writing about video games and the kind of defensiveness you pick up from trying to write well about video games.
I say all this because for as long as Hotline Miami has existed there has been a strata of completely useless writing on it. These are mostly in the form of positive retrospective videos that are well-meaning but very, very stupid. The kind of gamer Hotline Miami targe…
Top Bar Image
As wikia have decided to implement the new (and downgraded) top bar for every wiki, it has affected the appearance of the wiki significantly. Although the old top bar was glitched due to the image that was used as its background being deleted, the new top bar is somewhat of an eyesore with its flat, bright cyan colour with black text.
Ideally, we need an image in for the top bar as the background that would be less painful to look at, while still retaining the general colour scheme of this wiki.
As I am not good at creating background images, someone else will have to do this. If you are competent at creating background images and you are reading this, then create one for the top bar background and submit it to this wiki as an image (not any…
Gullfires Over Leningrad: Hotline Miami's Alternate History
"I was intrigued by the exchange in one of the opening scenes where the Warden says to Snake 'You flew the Gullfire over Leningrad, didn't you?' It turns out to be just a throwaway line, but for a moment it worked like the best SF where a casual reference can imply a lot."
--William Gibson, on his using John Carpenter's Escape from New York to help birth the entire cyberpunk genre in Neuromancer
One of Hotline Miami's more undervalued aspects is it's handling of its alternate history in which the Cold War heats up for some years before leaving an awkward, shaky bureaucracy in its wake. From the many negative critiques of the story one might infer Hotline Miami features longwinded cutscenes full of unnatural dialogue drawing an awkward amount …
Hotline Miami 2 Wrong Audience
Hotline Miami 2's reception has been relatively lukewarm for a plethora of reasons, the primary one being its emphasis on the importance of things not valued by the typical fan of Hotline Miami 1.
This series was always partially inspired by Cocaine Cowboys, itself a very hands off and nonjudgmental documentary about the lives of various people involved in 1980's drug running in Miami. A Vietnam vet details his war injuries and the conditions that caused him to move to Miami from New York City. A hitman Rivi Ayala details making dynamite in the bathtub with his sleeping toddler on the other side of a wall. Colorful and interesting lives are recollected as well as the hugely strained and eventually hugely corrupted police force. It isn'…

INCOMING RAID- PUT LOGGED IN ONLY EDITS
I CAME ACROSS SOME INTEL, SOON A GROUP OF 8 KIDS WILL RAID OUR WIKIS, LOCK EVERYTHING IMMEDIATELY
AND FAST
Considering making it mandatory to log on to edit.
Due to the frequent vandalism of this wiki, much of it organised, as well as the recent Many Pardo themed vandalism on FNAFOC wiki and the organised redditors planning to vandalise this wiki, I am considering temporarily making it mandatory to log in before being able to edit, as this will reduce the number of vandals or at the very least make it slower for them to vandalise the wiki and make it easier for me to track them, and this new policy, if implemented, will stay that way until this vandal problem is dealt with.
What are your thoughts on this, should I implement this as a wiki policy or not, please write your opinion in the comment section below?
POSSIBLE VANDALISM ATTACK BY FNAFOC WIKI - STAY AWARE!
1- operation pardopocalypse started, and fans of manny pardo started vandalalizing other wikis, writing stuff about pardo.
The problem is, there are link on that pages that sends people to hotline miami's wiki.
I'm afraid that the idiots at the FNAF-oc wiki might retaliate, by vandalizing us....
Please delete these useless pages.
Some vandals think it is funny to create useless spam pages, if any admins read this can you please go to the list of pages flagged for deletion and delete them. Also please list all the useless spam pages you find in the comments so the admins can see them. Edit: I have found where the vandals are coming from, here are the links (Edit: some of these links no longer work, guess the vandals must have seen this blog and taken the pages down so no one can see them):
Here is a link to a translation of first the page: https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&prev=search&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&sl=pl&u=https://pl.vichan.net/b/res/694628-kurwa-anoni-xd-pomocy-od-kilku-dni-trolluje-sobie-hotline-miami-wiki-okazalo-sie.ht…
Mask Images
Working on adding images of the masks rotating on the select screen. For reasons. Right now it's a slow, uploading downloaded image process, but I might upload them and link them. Either way, please enjoy. Right now they're being uploaded under the "Fair use" law of the US. I'm a bit fuzzy on licsencing so give me a moment here.
Masks Uploaded:
- Dennis has been uploaded and used on his page
- Brandon has been uploaded
- Aubrey has been uploaded
- Took a while but I finally put Richter in on his page.
Regards to edits among other things.
So, hey, hello, how you doing? Anyways, just prefacing this with saying that I've been editing the Wikia for a while now, but only just made an actual account for it. (Reasons being recording edits.) Anyways, I'm kind of bothered by a few things, like the fact that a good amount of articles seemed to be biased by an opinion or self thought theory in regards to the storyline. Also, it just really, really, really bothers me that the front page doesn't have a space between the "Miami" and "2", and the colon and "Wrong Number". And the fact that it still says that it WILL be released. (It was released March 10th, 2015). Really, I was just awfully bothered by this. Just wanted to say it.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the only thing that shows up for …
it's a quarter to 6 in the morning
i should be sleeping but nope, i've been up all on the internet as usual, and screwed myself over in the process since i have to get ready to leave for class soon. but at least i made a wikia account :-) (slight sarcasm). this shit is really confusing tho, so idk how often i'll be on here. but i'll figure everything out somehow.

Sigh...
It has been a while since I didn't check this wiki again, I think it has been like 2 months, it was nice to see that people are still contributing, despite some cases of vandalism, hopefully it'll go after a while.
Hotline Miami 2 is coming out, and that might require some interface revamp, but we'll see about that when the game comes.
Welp, summer's over, time for more university classes, I willl be busy but I will keep an eye in here, can't ask for a higher position as I have little time.
Wiki Adoption
Hello to anyone reading this. For the past couple of days I've been poking around this wiki making a basic assessment on the level of work it needs to be a functioning resource for the game. Here's a rundown of priorities:
- Better/Informative Images.
- More informative articles in general.
- Revamped templates
- Revamped skin. (I've already started developing a skin on one of my Sandbox wiki's, But keep in mind that it is not finished)
- Site-name changed to hotlinemiami.wikia.com (we'll redirect the current one)
This is a rather big task to take on, and with no administration/people-with-user-rights, I think its best that I formally adopt the wiki. If anyone reading this interested in obtaining admin rights to help the wiki please reply below. Other th…
